Craving for Math ?

July 31, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Well, a month ago, I had received this letter from the Mathematical Association of America:

A week after that, I made a new friend who was currently a member of the Math Club at UP Diliman. I tried inviting her to join UP ACM and at the same time she also invited me to join the Math Club too. Hmm..am I inclined to study and learn Math again especially due to mock programming competitions?

We’ll see.. Anyway, if you have sad experiences with Math, then Funny Math is for you! Try to check it out! Here’s a sample:

WordPress vulnerability?

July 29, 2006 · Leave a Comment

I have not verified yet if this article about the WordPress vulnerability is a fact or just a hoax but since I’m somewhat paranoid, I decided to implement the safety measures on some of my blogs. :)

Is it a joke? Is it really that critical? Will that affect my current blog?

IE7 Release Candidate ?

July 28, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Good news!

You may now download one of the best browsers on Earth at IE7.com!

Well, I can’t remember if ‘domain squatting’ is the right term but if it is, is this an instance of it? What do you think?

Anyway, let’s continue celebrating the World Firefox Day and become a friend of Firefox! Share Firefox with a friend, and if your friend downloads it, you’ll both be included on the Firefox Friends Wall and Firefox 2, and you’ll be immortalized.

Awesome!

Siemens Mobile Connectivity on Ubuntu Linux

July 26, 2006 · 2 Comments

Since cellphone theft is ubiquitous nowadays, I tried to test if data synchronization (phonebook, SMS, etc) of my Siemens S55 will work on Ubuntu Linux. The packages that were available at my installation were scmxx and kmobiletools. I began connecting the Siemens serial cable (ttyS0) at the back of my old system unit with a new house:

and here’s the output in the terminal:

Success! The application gets the task done! Now, I can still remember the times (maybe about 4-5 years ago) when I used to install a bunch of softwares from a set of CDs just to make Windows XP detect it. At least this time it’s hassle-free, faster, and the application is lightweight. So, what’s next?
