Sorry Pidgin

Sorry Pidgin, but I would rather go back to Gaim 2.0 beta 6. For some reason, when I had installed Pidgin transition .deb file along with the plugins (Psychic Mode, Pidgin GTK+ Theme Control, Message Notification, Last Seen, Idle Maker, History, Buddy State Notification, and Buddy Notes), I have just realized (the hard way) recently that there were times when I was not able to receive any messages from my contacts.

So for those who were expecting a reply from me on Yahoo Messenger’s Chat, I would like to apologize for it. Oh c’mon, I’m not a snob!

Learning from the experience, I guess it’s not advisable to send offline messages via Yahoo Messenger’s protocol. Who knows, your messages might get flushed to somewhere else just like how unreliable SMS is. For the record, I was on a place of dead zone earlier – no cell provider signal! And what’s more disappointing for the day – I was expecting WiFi in some building in the campus but it wasn’t usable!

Now what happened to my Pidgin? I just reinstalled the Gaim version that was officially on Ubuntu’s repositories. And as usual, you can always stalk me thru my Twitter (which is currently being upgraded) account. In fairness, Twitter let’s you know that your message is being archived and sent to the recipient.

For now, I might hangout at Pownce or Jaiku. See ya!

SeptemberFEST!

Yesterday, I was able to make it to the Orange & Bronze Company Talk at the UP COELACS building but only during the part when it was registration for their contest. I was late for their presentation! *sighs* Anyway, I tried signing on their list and afterwards, I was able to get a shirt! Yey! It was still worth it!

Perhaps, this event marks the first of the numerous events for September! Freebies’ month?! So what’s next?
