I guess you might have read about the 26K Dancing Librarians either from the Filipino Librarian’s blog or heard it discussed on the Philippine Daily Inquirer, but were you able to watch the librarians sing on the CarolFest at UP this year?
If I remember correctly, The UP Singing Librarians (UPSL?) was formed on the 2nd week of December when a group of SLIS students (Randolf, Dan, Noel, Janny, Vjay, Vin, Darrel, Chad, Geexie, Mennie, Grace, Jill, Iya, Kriz, Bianca) started practicing for the presentation. The songs that we had sung on the CarolFest last December 14 include Kumukutikutitap by Ryan Cayabyab (required piece), God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman, and Sana Ngayong Pasko.
The result of the CarolFest was only released after the university’s lantern parade. Although we weren’t able to place on the top 3, it was definitely a fabulous start (for starters!) and everyone enjoyed on the performance for I think that was the first time SLIS participated to such an event. So again, congratulations to the UP Singing Librarians! See you next year’s chorale fest!
